SECONDS AWAY AND AWRY, AND IT’S NO THIRDS PARTY COVER AGAINST RAGE!

March 2, 2023

Two teams and two defeats as Thursday proved to be a sorry night for Trojans.

The Seconds went to Westwood where, for the second time in a week the home side took the honours. this time it went to a 78-75 ending as the Trojans team, like their firsts in the cup a week earlier, failed to show their true potential sitting in the runners-up spot in the table, and, they had Ray Wu sent off in the process.

more to come…..

Trojans 3 meanwhile shocked unbeaten league-leaders Rugby Rage, with a sterling performance to go 30-24 up before half-time as the two number elevens fought it out at either end. Trevor Robinson and Guntars Trabliks accounted for much of the early scoring, until the Reds went ahead, but in a horrible Third quarter, Rage eased in front then went from 33-36 to 41-60 as they cashed in on the fast-break after Trojans hit a poor spell of shooting.

That was it as far as the unbeaten tag was concerned, but, all credit to the seven-man Trojans squad, they took the final quarter to make a contest of things but ruing that middle ten minute spell.

Scorers: Trojans Robinson 17, Wang 7, Novelskas 20, Dickson 2, Maxwell 18, Petrenko 0, Mircea 0.

Rage – Deen 6, Isherwood 18, J Jung 2, Trabliks 33, Martin 2, Puspiech 11,

S Jung 5, Ngaruiya 4, Elliott 2.
