MAXWELL’S HAMMER BLOW!
March 2, 2019
IAIN MAXWELL WAS AT HOSPITAL BEFORE THE END OF AN HISTORIC TROJANS 3 VICTORY AGAINST ERNESFORD EAGLES IN THE CHALLENGE CUP, BUT FEARS OF A NASTY BREAK WERE DISPELLED. BUT HE SUFFERED A SPLIT DOWN TO THEBONE WHICH AS HE SAID “WAS GLUED AND PATCHED UP”.
AS A RESULT, IAIN (PICTURED) WILL PROBABLY MISS THE VITAL THIRD GAME IN THE SERIES WHICH IS DUE TO BE PLAYED AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
TO GET TO THIS POSITION MEANT THAT THE REMAINING TEAM MEMBERS HAD TO FIGHT ALL THE WAY, AND THEY DID SO IN STYLE, FENDING OFF A LATE EAGLES’ CHARGE WHICH BROUGHT THEM THREE SUCCESSIVE TRIPLES, BUT SUCCESS FROM THE LINE SAW TROJANS HOME 82-75 AND SETS THEM UP NICELY TO PLAY RUGBY RAGE ON THURSDAY 28TH MARCH.
