April 18, 2019

TROJANS FIRST TEAM HAD TO WORK OVERTIME TO GET THEIR HANDS ON THE BOB CASTLEDINE MEMORIAL HANDICAP CUP AS THEY POWERED FROM A 30-0 DEFICIT TO CLAIM THE TROPHY 98-88.

IT TOOK UNTIL THE THIRD MINUTE OF THE FINAL QUARTER FOR THE VISITORS TO THE RAWLETT CENTRE TO GET THEIR NOSES IN FRONT AND IT WAS DOWN LARGELY TO A MAN-OF-THE-MATCH PERFORMANCE FORM THEIR YOUNGEST PLAYER – AUSTIN DICKSON WHO PUT HIMSELF ABOUT ALL OVER THE COURT TO HELP HIS SIDE OVER THE LINE, AND SCORE 26 POINTS IN THE PROCESS.

“OZZIE” DROPPED IN TWO THREE-POINTERS IN THE FIRST MINUTE TO SET THE TONE AND, ALONG WITH HIS TEAM-MATES WORKED HIS SOCKS OFF ALL NIGHT TO THWART THE HOME SIDE IN A HIGH TENSION-FILLED DRAMA-PACKED EVENING OF CUP ACTION.

OTHER SCORERS FOR TROJANS WERE MARK LARNER WHO MADE 25, BROTHER ASH DICKSON WITH 22, TREVOR ROBINSON WHO WAS POWERFUL INSIDE ON 10, AND THESE WERE AIDED BY SCOTT OWEN (8), RICH ONIONS (5) AND ALEX HERNANDEZ RICO WHO SCORED 2.
