NOW IT’S SECOND NATURE FOR SECONDS AS PROMOTION BECKONS!

Will they won’t they? That is the question Trojans members are asking as the Club’s Second Team pulled off a magnificent three-point victory at rivals JM Grizzlies to clinch the runners-up spot in the table and offer themselves up for a move with the elite of Warwickshire Basketball.

Whether or not that comes to fruition remains in the hands of the WBA Executive Committee.

They were without player/coach Ben Linnett, so Egis Baliunas took control of the young enthusiastic group who challenged and held their hosts at Aylesford School, and there was little between the pair after a first half of battling basketball which saw the home side up by one at 35-34.

Trojans edged ahead in the third quarter as they harried their opponents in a fast-flowing encounter and when the two sides emerged for the final ten minutes, the visitors were holding the whip-hand at 48-44.

It was nip and tuck as Grizzlies tried to get back, but Trojans went up by eight as Baliunas put on his fastest players and it paid off as they managed to grab that second place with a 64-61 result that left everyone in red purring with delight.

Scorers: Grizzlies – Kular 8, Z Alford 2, S Alford 2, Langman 8, Aldred 1, Williams 3, Adaway 6, Valente 7, Satchwell 5, Ingram 19.
