In a pulsating atmosphere the first team just edged out new-boys Tornadoes at Hereward, winning 72-69 in their season opener.
The game swung back and forth although the feeling was that there was only going to be one winner – Trojans. but Tornadoes had other ideas as the final minutes passed they swept back into contention with an 11-4 burst to trail by 2. Then up stepped Richard Onions to knock down three free shots to seal the game.
He scored 11 with Jacob Krupa and Austin Dickson on 12.
