SECONDS BLOW STORM OFF COURSE – EARN ‘CHICKEN DINNER’ PRAISE FROM COACH!

January 18, 2023

COVENTRY TORNADOES, WHOSE MOTTO IS “THERE’S A STORM COMING” WERE BLOWN OFF COURSE BY A STRONG TROJANS 2 PERFORMANCE WHICH BROUGHT THEM “THE DOUBLE” OVER THEIR HOSTS AT WOODLANDS ACADEMY.

AND IT WAS LARGELY DOWN TO A SUPERB SHOWING IN THE SECOND HALF THAT BROUGHT TROJANS THEIR 55-44 WIN, WITH AUSTIN DICKSON AND AUDI GUDLIEKIS LEADING THE WAY FROM THE FRONT.

TROJANS HAD TO CONTEND WITH THE IMPRESSIVE 6’9″ BEN CLARKE WHO TRIED GAMELY TO STEER HIS SIDE TO VICTORY, BUT HIS EFFORTS WERE NULLIFIED BY THE EAGER REDS WHO WELCOMED EGIS BAIUNAS BACK TO FORM AS THEY GRADUALLY EDGED AWAY FROM TORNADOES, AND CLINCHED THINGS WITH A GOOD FINAL QUARTER WHICH SAW THEM ACCELERATE FROM 34-39 TO THEIR FINAL WIINNING SCORE.

COACH BEN LINNETT WAS THRILLED AT THE END, WHEN HE CRIED “WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER” HIS SUMMING UP OF A MAGNIFICENT TEAM PERFORMANCE FROM THE VISITING TILE HILL SIDE.
