THREES STUN GRIZZLIES – THEN GET CLAWED!

An opening first quarter looked optimistic for Trojans Three as they went 16-10 up, but hosts JM Grizzlies fought their way back and sank their claws into their visitors in the second half to win 55-38.

With Trevor Robinson winning the inside battle against Ricky Kular and Gareth Langman, Trojans were in control of the game at Aylesford School, as Sam Coombes and Matas Novelskas shone on the break, but the Coventry side’s thirds faded as Grizzlies continued along their path towards Division One to complete the double over the Reds.

Half time brought a 27-23 lead for the Warwick side as Trojans, without several of their usual squad struggled, but a welcome return to shooting form saw Xing Wang drop in three triples before a disastrous final quarter brought put three points on the away total and defeat ensued.

Trojans – Robinson 8, Wang 9, Novelskas 12, Muyrray 0, Sanchez 0, Petrenko 3, Mircea 2, Coombes 4.
