The opening half of trojans visit to Ballers Heaven Warwickshire Warriors proved to be vital as they let an 18 point lead drift before coming home from Caludon Castle on the back of a 79-69 victory.

trojans were in command as they blitzed Warriors early on to lead 23-19 at the opening break, before stepping on the gas with a match-winning 29-15 second quarter to take a comfortable 52-34 half-time lead with everyone making their mark on the scoresheet.

They then fell away as over-confidence took charge and a poor third saw them bag just eight points as Warriors fought back. It then took some steadying of the ship by Trevor Robinson to halt their hosts and ease their way to victory.

“It was a good all-round team performance in the end” said Trojans’ player-coach and it keeps our hopes alive for Warriors are a good side.”

The hopes Robinson refers to  are based on a second successive defeat for favourites Arden Griffins who are suffering with the loss of key player Luke Hatfield, leaving them in a similar position to that which Trojans found themselves when top-scorer Mark Larner had to sit out two matches just after Christmas  – both of which they lost! larner’s return saw normal service resumed whreas it looks as if Hatfield might miss the rest of the season.

Scroers: Larner 28, Ash Dickson 15, Robinson 10, Jones 9, Murray 8, Onions 6, Needham 3.
