TRIUMPH FOR TEAMWORK – PREDATORS FLOORED BY FIRSTS

November 22, 2022

TROJANS COACH TREVOR ROBINSON WAS THRILLED BY THE CONTRIBUTION OF HIS BENCH PLAYERS AS TROJANS 1 TURNED IN A GOOD ALL-ROUND EFFORT FROM EVERYONE TO FLOOR NUNEATON PREDATORS WITH EASE AT HEREWARD.

THE 75-46 RESULT WAS NEVER IN DOUBT, PARTICULARLY AFTER THE HOME SIDE WENT 15-2 AHEAD EARLY ON, BUT LLOYD TAYLOR’S MEN PUT IN A GALLANT PERFORMANCE DESPITE BEING OUTCLASSED IN MANY DEPARTMENTS.ROBINSON TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE VALUABLE MINUTES TO SOME OF HIS PLAYERS AND WAS ESPECIALLY DELIGHTED WITH THE SHOWING FROM CHRIS JANES (6) AND PHIL ROBERTS (9) WITH THE COACH SAYING, “THIS WILL GIVE BOTH MEN A REAL BOOST IN COFIDENCE FOR THEY DO NOT GET TOO MANY MINUTES AS A RULE.

THE DUO BACKED UP TOP-SCORER ENOCH KOLAWOLE WELL, ANS ALL WERE KEEN TO IMPRESS THROUGHOUT A TOUGH, KEENLY-FOUGHT GAME WHICH SAW TROJANS HEAD INTO THE HALF-TIME BREAK LEADING 36-15.

NUNEATON RALLIED EARLY IN THE SECOND-HALF BEFORE KOLAWOLE WENT TO WORK UNDER THE BOARDS AND THE FINAL QUARTER ATARTED AT 58-32, BRINGING A QUUIETER FINAL PERIOD BUT A GOOD RESULT FOR ROBINSON’S SIDE.

THE DOWN-SIDE OF THE EVENING WAS AN INJURY TO DOMINIK GORGOL WHO APPEARED TO BADLY ROLL AN ANKLE WHICH MIGHT KEEP HIM OUT FOR A WHILE, AND HARRY STAIN OF NUNEATON PLAYERS DID LIKEWISE, LEAVING THE SPORTS ARENA WITH A NOTICABLE LIMP AND WAS LATER THOUGHT TO BE A CHIPPED ANKLE BONE.
