TROJANS BIG SIX COME OUT TOPS!

The score suggests that six-man Trojans including the returning Scotty Owen  dominated the game but it was a lot closer that the 80-59 result actually suggests.

OK the home team led from start to finish, but Roger Payne’s Warriors gave a good account of themselves on their first trip to Hereward College and they trailed by just ten points well into the second half before Trojans broke their resilience and stormed to an emphatic victory.

The young visitors were facing six highly experienced opponents in the Trojans’ ranks and the years on court showed as the match moved through into the final quarter with Tile Hill keeping their cool after a flurry of turnovers prompted a time-out call from player-coach Trevor Robinson. It was the signal for his men to stop the rot and get down to business, which is precisely what they did.

Mark Larner led them home with 27 points with Robinson on 15 and Ash Dickson making 14, while for Warriors J Bull headed them on 14 with R Clarke making 11.
