WARWICK AND LEAMINGTON GIVEN MASTERCLASS!
March 9, 2020
TROJANS 2 AND TROJANS 3 STUNNED THE SIDES FROM LEAMINGTON AND WARWICK RESPECTIVELY AS THE SECONDS EDGED OUT A STRONG PERFORMANCE FROM SPARTANS IN THE SHIELD TO GO THROUGH 91-86.
AFTER RECEIVING A TEN POINT START ON HANDICAP LEAMINGTON WERE TORN APART IN THE EARLY STAGES AS TROJANS ROCKED ON AT 51-29, BUT THIRTY MINUTES LATER, AND THEY WERE HANGING ON AT 87-83 AS THE FINAL MINUTE CAME BUT THE SCORING BELONGED TO THE HOME SIDE WHO WENT THROUGH TO MEET THE WINNERS OF THE RUGBY V TAMWORTH CLASH.
TROJANS 3 MIGHT STILL CAUSE A MAJOR UPSET AS JM GRIZZLIES, UNBEATEN ALL SEASON UNTIL THEY LOST AT WESTWOOD LAST WEEK WERE UNDONE 59-52 IN ANOTHER ONE WHICH COULD HAVE GONE EITHER WAY. THREATENED AT 51-47 GRIZZLIES HAD NO ANSWER TO THE PWER OF TREVOR ROBINSON AND COMPANY WHO DOMINATED INSIDE AND COLLECTED FREE-SHOT AFTER FREE-SHOT TO GO TO THE BUZZER ON A ROLL WHICH HAS LEFT GRIZZLIES TO FACE THEIR RECENT CONQUERORS – WESTWOOD AND TROJANS IN THEIR LAST TWO GAMES AND NEEDING TO WIN THEM BOTH TO BE SURE OF THE DIVISION TWO TITLE.
TROJANS FIRST TEAM HAD THEIR GAME AGAINST WARWICK CHINA RED DELAYED BY A WEEK DUE TO THE UNAVAILABILITY OF A COURT.
